Customers
Our main demographic are ages 13-30 and anyone fashion interested.
However, the app is designed for all types of people, no matter age or fashion interest, etc. At release
the app interface will be in English, limiting the user base to English speakers, later on more language
options will be added (Arabic, Spanish, French, etc). Partnership with retail local second hand and
second hand stores will at first only be available in major Swedish cities, plan to expand internationally
in the future, therefore that feature will be geographical at first.
Competitors
Main competitor is Whering, roughly the same idea. Both utilize a digital wardrobe, digital outfit creation, social features, shopping/wishlist through online shopping and sustainable fashion focus. Exclusive to us: AI 3d model, partnerships with local retail and second hand stores, no paywall for certain features.
Our app will remain high quality while still being low price. Aim to have higher quality, more features and no paywall compared to Whering in order to compete. To remain low priced without using in app purchases we will rely on partnerships + selling data for revenue.
Feature request
From this market research on what features our potential customers would have wanted in the app, it can be determined that there is a potential for many new features to be added in the future. Through this engagement can be kept at a steady pace and entertain loyal customers. Additionally the survey concluded that the biggest priority among customers is to have sponsorships as a feature within the app. Therefore, this will be a main priority.
Product usage
Based on this research carried out among high school students, it can be concluded that there is a demand for this product. Another conclusion that can be drawn from this data is that, since there is a demand for this product most people probably are unaware of our competitors. Therefore, this creates a market gap where our product can dominate the market.
How should we Market our business?
Marketing will be primarily done using Social Media, through a non-company account. Specifically done using short form content, TikTok, Instagram (Reels), Youtube (Shorts). Make videos relatable, funny, non direct/obvious marketing - connect it to the app. Some videos directly marketing, explaining/showing app interface. Through this the app will also spread through word of mouth, recommending to friends, family, etc.
Social Media platforms, primarily TikTok, Instagram, Youtube. Short form content. (Eventually as a result of social media publicity, word of mouth is expected to reel in users.)
What is our marketing and sales strategy?
Rely on social media algorithms through relatable and funny short form clips/videos. The comment section contributes to people sharing the app, making people interested/fear of missing out.
Mass Produce qualitative content - some videos will get many views (not 100% success rate). Completely free of cost, one video can take about 10 minutes to create, minimal effort and no money required for major gains.
Sustainability
Outfittor is much more than just a fashion tool- it is also a sustainability initiative. The fashion industry creates far-reaching environmental harm, much of which is related to fast fashion. Our ambition is to disrupt this system and help users maintain their current wardrobe, as well as support them with more conscious shopping actions.
Our sustainability strategy is threefold:
Promoting Circular Fashion through enabling users to digitize and visualize their current wardrobe, Outfitor encourages people to reuse and restyle what they already own. Additionally, through second-hand partnerships, we provide easy access to reused clothing, making sustainable fashion more convenient and stylish.
Empowering Local & Eco-Friendly Businesses through actively seeking partnerships with local retailers and second-hand stores, helping them gain visibility and reach a wider, digital audience. This supports local economies and reduces the environmental cost of shipping and mass production.
Eliminating Unnecessary Waste Virtual try-ons allow users to see how clothes would look on them before buying, minimizing return rates and wasted resources. This feature not only improves user satisfaction but also reduces the environmental footprint of online fashion shopping.
Business Growth
We are committed to growing Outfittor in ways that align with our environmental and ethical values. This means:
1. Not partnering with fast fashion brands.
2. Ensuring that all development and production practices minimize energy consumption and emissions.
3. Making sure all key elements of the app will remain free and accessible to encourage uptake of sustainable fashion behaviours.
While Outfitor combines technology with a clear sustainability mission, Outfittor is more than just an app - it is a movement to encourage more responsible fashion consumption. We believe that style and sustainability go hand in hand, and Outfittor acts as the bridge.
Future Development
Outfitor is rooted in innovation and pliability and we envision a world where digital fashion tools are an integral way in which people dress, shop, and engage with clothing. As technology evolves so will Outfitor. In the short-term timeframe, our goal is to release our primary core app with relevant features. These features will include the utilitarian elements of: an AI-powered digital wardrobe, the ability to 3D try-on our AR catalogue and a localized second-hand market. In the long-term vision we will expand our outreach globally while integrating communication features in multiple languages, expanding partnerships with second-hand stores around the world, and incorporating virtual reality (VR) to provide a virtual, immersive outfit planning experience.
We will continue to refine our AI recommendation engine to adapt to the user to help them discover outfit combinations that are unique and potentially sustainable fashion choices based on their own inputted specific values, in their own sense of style. Potential additional sprigs of features include seasonal outfit planning, digitally swapping clothes with friends, as well as eco-impact tracking features that we’re developing.
